Still counts. I still missed it--absence isn't an excuse.
[He looks pleased when they fit.] Oh, good, I wasn't sure. [He holds out one arm and sort of examines it.] Like I know my arms are a little thinner than yours, but my hands are bigger, so I tried 'em on and they kinda fit me but not quite right, so I thought they'd prolly fit you. [Lea tugs his sleeve back a moment and sort of frowns at the freckles that have cropped up all over his arms from the sun, then pulls the sleeve back down.]
Oh, right, one other thing.
[He reaches up and pulls a scarf out from around his shoulders, hidden under his coat. It's bright yellow and made of something really soft he couldn't identify.] There, that too. [He tosses it toward Riku, aiming for his head, then shakes his head with a hopeless sigh.] Maybe if you actually wore layers or something you'd stop getting sick all the time.
[Lea snorts a laugh.] Clearly, if the color of your face is any indication. That's the great thing about scarves, though: easy to put on, just as easy to take off.
[He shrugs.]
You don't have to wear it, I just thought it might help.
[He rolls his shoulders and grimaces--they're sunburnt too--and then waves one hand.]
Anyhoo, I'll let you get back to whatever you were doing. I know you're a busy guy. Got some napping to catch up on, anyway. [And he narrows one eye then, noting the dark circles beneath Riku's eyes. He tsks.] Something tells me you haven't exactly been keeping your end of that bet we made, though, coon-eyes.
I tried. [ he bites back, exasperated as his shoulders hunch. he did! but nightmares are nightmares and when they cause more harm than good... riku prefers exhaustion. ] Sleeping isn't as easy as everyone thinks it is.
Right, sorry. Officer Dude, sir. [Have a half-assed salute. Then he shoves his hands into his pockets.] Well, do your best, I guess. Seriously, you look half-ready to fall over, you know?
[Lea makes a mocking gesture like he's gonna smack him upside the head, but he's not close enough to reach. He still remembers how Riku flinched away from him once when all he'd done was take his shoulder; old scars fade slowly and he's not looking to exacerbate anything.]
Rude. Just for that I'm not going to let you open your Christmas present a day early like I had planned. Now you get to wait until the 25th like everybody else, I hope you're satisfied.
[ riku is, admittedly, a little slower to flinch this time, more reaching up to smack his hand away. there's a bright light in his eyes at the mention of christmas, like a little kid getting a hint as to what his christmas present would be. ]
Who'd want it early? Christmas is worth waiting for.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Fine, whatever, go take a nap, Officer Dude, before you get a ticket for sleepwalking without a license. [He presses one fingertip against Riku's forehead, then tsks again. Fever's still there. Idiot. He pulls his arm back and shoves both hands in his pockets again, turning to head back down the hall.]
There's fruit in the dining hall; I brought some interesting stuff back from my mission, so don't miss out. Don't work too hard, okay?

Trust me, I get it, that's why I said it didn't have to be consecutive. Y'ain't doin' yourself any favors, though, tired as you look.
action;
[ it's a weak joke, but at least riku can try to make fun of himself. ]
I'll try again. I might've lost, but I'm not a sore loser.

Want me to find you a really boring book?

Stuff like that might work with Sora, but I've got patience to spare.

Wouldn't dream of it! [ he calls back as he leaves, before turning. he still has a few things to do before he can settle down to eat. ]
