[ being apart from sora for a little while gives riku some space to exhale and try to calm down. he couldn't show this darkness around sora. squashing it down never worked, so he'd have to do his best to try and conceal every bit of it that he could, that was too dark. ]
Welcome.
[ milk's on the stove, two mugs on the counter, and riku hops up onto the counter himself, because.
... because. ]
You homesick?
[ riku isn't. thank god. if he actually missed the big, empty house he lived in, he'd kick himself in the head. ]
[And Sora...while a tiny bit disappointed, isn't surprised at all to hear that from Riku. It was his idea to leave the islands in the first place. He's shown lots of signs of not wanting to live there.]
[Whew okay good. Because honestly, this world while he wanted to help it was a bit too grim.]
Yeah....I don't plan on leaving until then either.
[Even if sometimes he worried about what was happening with the others while they were away, he couldn't just turn a blind eye to this world. Or leave Riku to do this by himself]
Yeah, you're right. I bet you've made a bunch of friends, right?
Uh... there's this girl, Kyouko. Sayaka, too. And Madoka. [ he sits down, letting his shoulders relax. ] You know Ros, right? She was all over the network, when the mutiny went down. We both got here around the same time, and we've been friends since.
Kyouko, Sayaka and Madoka... [He recites the names, but none of them cause any recognition. He hasn't met them. Ros on the other hand] Oh yeah...I remember seeing her. She seems like a really good person!
[And he doesn't even bother blowing the top as he takes a sip of his. Okay sure it burns a little but what is patience for the 3 seconds it takes to blow it off when there is chocolate.]
[He also smiles a little. Good, he's glad Riku is meeting good people here]
Do you guys work together? Er, on that police force thing.
Aren't best friends supposed to support each other?
I know you guys can. Still don't know if I can even do anything down here, though--everyone's already taking care of the mutineers that came down here.

[But he is okay with waiting, and leans back. What. He's a helpful friend but he's still a lazy bum]
Alright. Thanks Riku!

Welcome.
[ milk's on the stove, two mugs on the counter, and riku hops up onto the counter himself, because.

You homesick?
[ riku isn't. thank god. if he actually missed the big, empty house he lived in, he'd kick himself in the head. ]
no subject
Huh?
[He glances up over his shoulder at Riku. It seemed like an out of nowhere question, so he has to think about it a little]
...Sometimes. But you know, I'm not as much as I was on my first couple journeys.
[That's something, right?]
no subject
I guess that counts for something.
[ though he has to worry, just a little... ]
no subject
For something? Aw c'mon, are you saying you're not even the least bit homesick? Even in this weather?
[BECAUSE SERIOUSLY, AFTER THE AWE OF SNOW WEARS OFF THIS JUST SUCKS]
no subject
it's always felt, to him, like sora's always felt at home at destiny islands, and while riku loves sora and kairi...
he can't say he feels the same. he feels like little less than an outsider. ]
I miss the beach, but not much else.
no subject
[And Sora...while a tiny bit disappointed, isn't surprised at all to hear that from Riku. It was his idea to leave the islands in the first place. He's shown lots of signs of not wanting to live there.]
Do you like it here?
no subject
[ and there's another truth. ]
It's our job to make sure the worlds are safe, though--I'm not planning on leaving until this place is safe.
[ but, there's a little smile creeping onto his face as he pours hot milk and stirs. ]
The people aren't that bad, though.
no subject
Yeah....I don't plan on leaving until then either.
[Even if sometimes he worried about what was happening with the others while they were away, he couldn't just turn a blind eye to this world. Or leave Riku to do this by himself]
Yeah, you're right. I bet you've made a bunch of friends, right?
no subject
I don't know about 'a bunch'... a few, sure.
no subject
Like who?
[So reaching out to get his mug. Ah yes chocolate]
no subject
Uh... there's this girl, Kyouko. Sayaka, too. And Madoka. [ he sits down, letting his shoulders relax. ] You know Ros, right? She was all over the network, when the mutiny went down. We both got here around the same time, and we've been friends since.

[ it's said with total confidence, as he blows on the surface of his hot chocolate and takes a sip. ]

[He also smiles a little. Good, he's glad Riku is meeting good people here]
Do you guys work together? Er, on that police force thing.
no subject
I am--was? An officer. She's actually my boss.
no subject
[Why is there a question of was, Riku]
no subject
[ he gives a thoughtful noise, brows furrowing. ]
I don't even know if we still have a force, now that we're separated...
no subject
[You lack the hair spikes to ever be his relative]
If you like doing it, you should still try to do it sometimes. We can all help out with munny!
no subject
Aren't best friends supposed to support each other?
I know you guys can. Still don't know if I can even do anything down here, though--everyone's already taking care of the mutineers that came down here.
no subject
So ask Ros! If she's your boss, she'd know.
no subject
[ making sure sora, roxas, lea, and virgil were safe and warm were. ]
no subject
Yeah, I guess.
But...if you like doing it, you should ask. At least, think about it?
no subject
[ he looks down at his mug, not at sora. ]
no subject
[he looks at Riku for just a moment, before looking at his own mug; watching the steam slowly rise]
